## The 4-layer audit trail

We built our logging system so you never have to ask anyone to blindly “take our word for it.” Every single document view automatically passes through four layers of cryptographic proof:

### Digital Fingerprinting

The moment your page is displayed, we generate a unique cryptographic fingerprint of the exact file shown. We store a private copy securely so it can be verified later to prove the content was never altered.

### Sequential Chaining

Each new viewing record embeds the digital fingerprint of the view right before it. Because the logs are chained together, trying to delete or fake a single entry breaks the entire chain instantly.

### Independent Verification

The digital seal is countersigned using an independent security certificate. Anyone can verify this signature with standard, free tools on any computer, completely independent of WearableDocs.

### Blockchain Timestamping

We anchor the fingerprint onto the Bitcoin blockchain using OpenTimestamps. Because a blockchain’s ledger cannot be backdated or edited by anyone, the exact date and time of the reading are locked permanently.
