How it works

# You sign it. We make sure it gets found.

The document is yours. You sign it, and it’s legally valid without any signature from us. *All we do is store it and make sure it can be found fast when it matters.*

## What we do

We keep your signed refusal on a private webpage and give you a wallet card or jewelry with a QR code that links to it. Print the card yourself for free, or we’ll print one for you. When someone scans the code, they see your name, what you’re refusing, the law it’s based on, and a link to your signed document.

1. 01You do thisYou sign the documentWe give you the right form for your state and tell you exactly how to sign it. You sign it; it’s your document, not ours.
2. 02You do thisYou upload it and choose what showsBy default, your page shows your name and birth year. You can choose to show your full birth date instead, if you decide it’s worth it for a faster match; that’s up to you.
3. 03You do thisYou get your QR filesYou get the QR code as a high-quality image file, plus instructions for engraving it. Take these to any engraver you like; the code will always link back to our site. We publish exactly [what your engraver needs to know](https://wearabledocs.com/engraving) before you buy. Our own bracelet carries the same code.
4. 04You do thisThe card goes in your walletKeep it behind your driver’s license, so it’s always with you. Print it at home for free, or we’ll print one and mail it to you.
5. 05We do thisWe send you the braceletStainless steel, engraved with the same code that’s on your card. We make it and mail it to you, so there’s no file to hand an engraver and nothing to arrange yourself. Wear it and the code is on you, even when your wallet isn’t.
6. 06We do thisYour people get a text the moment it’s scannedChoose up to three people. The moment your code is scanned, they get a text with your directive included, so someone who cares about you knows right away, while it still matters.
7. 07We do thisWe check in every three monthsEvery three months, we check in with you. One tap confirms nothing’s changed. Your page shows the date you last confirmed it, so whoever reads it knows it’s current.

## What happens after that

Every time someone views your page, that visit gets recorded, sealed, and verified by a secure system outside of ours, and your contacts get a text as it’s happening.
